Please join us for the Farm to Early Care and Education stakeholder meeting on November 13, 2019. We will be convening to discuss the following topics: 

  • How the current food system works, and how to introduce early childhood care providers into this system. 

  • How the local food system can benefit from an early childhood market, and how early childhood can benefit from the local food system. 

  • Discussing the current barriers for early childhood care providers and local food systems, as well as how members of those communities see areas to overcome said barriers. 

  • Connect with early childhood care providers and local food system members to start sourcing locally produced food.

This will be the first in a series of stakeholder meetings that we will convene until we develop adequate policy priorities for a Farm to Early Care and Education program in Iowa. We will be working in large group and small groups to have discussions about the above stated topics. 


The November 13th meeting will be held at the Thoreau Center, located at 3500 Kingman Blvd, Des Moines, IA 50311. Lunch will be provided.
